THE ENTIRE PLANT,

AND PROPERTY of the COMPANY,

Consisting of

1 Locomotive Steam Engine, 12 HP horse

power, manufactured by Robey, of Lincoln, in the best style, with the latest improvements, including a patent fire box for economically consuming wood, reversing gear, etc, etc.

1 cylindrical Gold Washing Machine, lift

x 5 ft, patented by ^Thompson and Fletcher, with all the necessary gear and fittings, aud with several improvements suggested by long experience, in gold

washing.

2 pumps, single aud double action, capable

of raising 500 gals, of water per minute, 12 large trucks, 2 ft 5in gage, lately manu

factured of the best materials, aud in first class working order.

A quantity of rails, sleepers, flood gates,

barrows, and bar iron.

Three turning tables, sluice boxes, with

false bottoms and ripples, &c., See.

And, a complete assortment of the various

A reservoir 120 feet by 60 feet, 17 feet

water.

Also a grant of land on which the ma

chinery is erected, an extended

laws.

Hie Auctioneers, in inviting the attention of the managing committees of die various companies to this most important sale, would merely allude to the fact that machinery suitable for mining companies in general is nearly impossible to be had, and that such an opportunity of obtaining a really first

plant ready for immediate operation is not likely to again offer. The plant of this company has been acknowledged, by all who have inspected it to be of the best possible construction, being so lately erected, it innlnri«.ff all the latest improvements. The engine, being a locomotive, is easy of conveyance to any part of the colony, and the great saving in cartage which would accrue to the purchasers, ought in itself to recommend it to capitalists and speculators as a highly remonera

tive .investment.

Messrs R. & C. do not deem it advisable to make any farther comment on a plant which is well-known to every one in the districtof

Castlemaine. They would also recommend i strangers to inspect and judge for themselves, 1 and not to loose fight of such a golden oppor

tunity.

. Terms liberal, half cash, residue by approved bills in equal payments, at . two and

four months.

THIS COMPANY has been formed for the

purpose of providing the Fiery Creek I

Gold Field with a permanent supply of running water for mining purposes, and with the object of working the large area of available

ground there in an efficient and extensive ' manner by the use of sluices and steam puddling machines, for which ops rations the almost unlimited extent of unoccupied surface

hills and shallow gullies in the Raglan district< renders it so eminently adapted.

For the above purposes the Provisional! Committee (appointed at a pnblic meeting 1 held at Raglan, on the 9th November, 1859) have made arrangements for purchasing from the^ Yam Hill and Ballarat Co-operative Sluicing Companies their first and second rights to the waters of Fiery Creek at Mount Cole with their main tributary and branch rases, as well as their reservoir (partly constructed) capable of containing 1,250,000 gallons of water, and together also with their Mining Plant for the sum of £4000.

The Fiery Creek derives its supply from permanent springs on Mount Cole, and the first-named water right is allowed to be one of the most valuable in Victoria.

The Provisional Committee consider they , have secured these properties on highly ad- i vantagaous terms. Tbe main races alone (each about 20 miles in length) cost in their construction £4000, but the late owners of the first named.water right (through a fault in the

levels of their race), have never been able to J realise the full advantage derivable therefrom, and have consequently been induced to

part with their property. .

The Ballarat Company's race however was surveyed by R. Davidson. Esq , C E., and District Mining. Surveyor of Ballarat, and is

In a position to -discharge the water at nearly j the highest point in the whole district. It is I now proposed to enlarge it to a size sufficient to convey both water rights combined, and thus to reduce the waste from evaporation and other causes, while at the same Hw»a it will allow of all the Water b.-ing made available for mining purposes throughout the district.

It is estimated that the company will be j enabled to supply from their reservoir an average of 900 gallons of water per minute for ten hours each working day throughout the year, and this water may be used several times at lower levels after leaving the first

workings.

It is proposed to wash the hills and higher grounds with sluices, using steam puddling machines in the flats an4 gullies, but as it is not intended in the fir>it instance to purchase

more than threa of such machines, there will , be a large quantity of water to be disposed of I to the miners generally.

The Provisional Committee have no desire to . make exaggerated statements, but after the most careful consideration, bated on practical tests, they are satisfied that a clear annual profit of at least 300 per cent, on the outlay will accrue to the company from their opera* tions, and, in the description of working aL luded to, the yield of gold may be calculated with much greater certainty than in deep leads or quartz reefs, to the working of which so much risk and uncertainty are attached;

It has been thought advisable to fix £20,000 as the capital of the company, so that its operations may be extended, if necessary, but the total amount required previously to commencing^ operations will not exceed £10,000. Six weeks will suffice to complete the preparations for working, so that a speedy return may be confidently expected.

One pound per share is t j be pud on allotment, but no further call will be made at any time exceeding .£2 per share, of which one month's notice will be given.

The company will be carried on by a board of directors, to be elected as soon as two thirds of the shares are taken up, bnt no bonus in any shape will be given to or accepted by the

proprietors.

No transfers of shares will be received or recognised by the provisional committee until the deed of settlement has been signed by the

shareholders.

Applications for shares to be made to the Secretary, at the temporary offices of the Company, Raglan, where forms of application can be obtained; or to H. Salmon, Broker, or to J. Dixie, Broker, Chamber of Commerce, Ballarat ; or to W. R. Mitchell, Camp Hotel, " Ararat; or to Mitchell & Co., 76 Yarra street, Gealong; or to Clarke & Sons, Brokers, Mel

bourne.
