times tho proportion of nicotine found in ordinary tobacco juice. For spraying ; .»»plants it is mixed with 100 parts of

water. The spraying is done after suroet, and the plants are sprinkled with clean water next .day. For fumigating hot houses, to destroy insects and para sites, it is diluted with five parte of water and sprayed on hots bricks or shoet iron. As a lotion to kill parasites on cattle, it is mixed with 20 parts of water and ap plied gradually to porte of tho skin, avoid ing sores. Tho above mixtures aro im proved by adding 3Joz. of soda crystals to each pints of" diluted juice. " Le Noir," a sooty parasite of th« orange, lemon, olive, and other trees of tho M.oà iterranean, os well as of potatoes, beans, peas, tomatoes, and other vegetables, is killed by the juice.
