Tasmania hit
Worst flood in
years
LAUNCESTON, Thurs-day: Tasmania's north-east has been hit by its worst floods for 30 years.
After torrential rain and fierce winds in most north-eastern districts on Monday and Tuesday rivers overflowed their banks cutting both rail and road communica-tions.
Districts hardest hit by
flood waters are Camp-bell Town and Fingal.
The Melbourne Weather Bureau last night issued floor warnings for the Gippsland and Eastern districts.
