'missing' players

F"OOTBALL clubs last night

were trying to solve the mystery of the "missing players."

MYSTERY NO.1 is Cyril Collard former Subiaco (W.A.) rover.

Is he going to Collingwood or Haw-

thorn? That's what Collingwood manager-secretary; Mr. Gordon Carlyon wants to know.

"We expect to see Col-lard at Victoria Park when we start on Tues-day," he said yesterday.

But an hour later Col-lard trotted out on to the Glenferrie oval, and trained with the large crowd of old and new players.

MYSTERY No. 2; is

Barry Henningsen, for-mer South Australian junior player.

Since his arrival a Collingwood, North Ade laide and West Torren clubs have been "hoppirij mad." Both claim hi promised to play foi

them.

MYSTERY No. 3 -ii Harry ("Doc") Meredith one of the best rovers ii Western Australia.

"Where is Doc?" V.F.I clubs are asking.

Meredith, a doctor, whi has been practising ii Perth, played a big par in his team's premicrshtj

last year.
