satellites.

In UKRAINE, freedom fighters have sabotaged a vital Soviet railway

line.

And in BULGARIA and EAST GER-MANY, students and intellectuals are spreading news of the crumbling Russian empire.

From Budapest today reports trickled

Trials soon

In London yesterday, dis-tinguished British lawyers, including three former Attorney-Generals, expressed a hope to go to Budapest to attend the trials of leaders of the Hungarian revolution.

Sir Lionel Head, Sir Hart-ley Shawcross, and Sir Frank Soskice, all Queen's Counsel and Members of Parliament, have applied for visas at the Hungarian Lega-

tion in London.

A statement issued in London said those on trial will include Sandor Racz and Sandor Bali, leading mem-bers of the Central Workers' Council who were arrested on Tuesday when visiting Pre-

mier Kadar.

The Soviet News Agency, Tass, said today Russian Foreign Minister Shepilov and Defence Minister Zhu-kov left for Warsaw this morning.

Tass said the two Minis-ters flew to Warsaw for talks with the Polish Government on concluding an agreement "determining the legal status

of Soviet troops in Poland."
