Mornington and Dromana Standard (Vic. : 1908 - 1911), Saturday 11 July 1908, page 2

THE growth and progress of THE STANDARD since the present proprietor-ship took it over has been most marked, and the support accorded by advertisers and subscribers equally so. The Peninsula public have recognised the fact that THE STANDARD is their mouthpiece, for the reason that every event worth recording in any town finds a place in our news columns. In order to better cope with the increas-ing business, we have decided to ex-tend our operations, and have estab-lished another office at Mornington. From to-day we will issue two editions —"THE MORNINGTON AND DROMANA STANDARD," and "THE FRANKSTON AND SOMERVILLE STANDARD." Adver-tisers will thus have the advantage of securing the appearance of their busi-ness notices in both editions at the one charge—a distinct advantage. The two issues will contain the same amount of news, and as usual our ef-forts will be directed in recording events of local importance especially. It will be readily understood that the opening of the new office naturally entails considerable expense, and we look confidently to the public for addi-tional support. The demands on our news space are great, and the amount limited; therefore those who support us will naturally receive the best atten-tion. It is merely a matter of mutual reciprocity. We feel sure we will re-ceive a good measure of practical sup-port. In conclusion, we wish our ad-vertisers and subscribers, and the public generally, continued prosperity.
