Boy Scout on trial

for murder

LONDON - A 17-year-old Boy Scout, accused of murdering a 74-year-old spinster, told the jury at Winchester, Hampshire, Assizes that police wrote down the exact opposite of statements he made.

The scout, Barry Musson, of Bournemouth, was being cross-examined on a charge of murdering Miss Amy Katherine Lloyd, badge-secretary of his troop, at her home in Bournemouth on May 15. He has pleaded not guilty.

He broke down in tears in the witness box when being cross-examined by Mr. FoxAndrews, prosecuting.

Referring to an interview with Detective-Superintendent Reginald Spooner of Scotland Yard, and another detective, Musson said: "I was just saying 'Yes' to all they asked."

Mr. Fox-Andrews: "Are you saying that these two officers were writing the exact opposite of what they knew you had said?"-"Yes, sir."
