GERALDTON FOOTBALLER IN PERTH.

Football critics of Perth are favorably impressed with thc abilities of Billy Thomas, formerly captain of thc Railwa v* Club, who is now playing for East Perth. The 'West Australian' football writer describes bis sround play

as perfect, his pace and passing of the highest order, whilst as a team man he had, on Saturday's form, few superiors. The 'Daily News' critic observe J that a newcomer named Thomas provcVt a valuable acquisition. The 'Worker,' in its comments on the play, said: — ''Interest always attaches to a newcomer showing great, promise. In Thomas, East Perth have a pearl of rare price. He has class stamped all over him, and the writer will be greatly disappointed if he doesn't go right to the top as a footballer. On Saturday he was as artistiq as Gohl, with everything in his favour except height. His was an outstanding display. There was no doubting his class, and I can 't see how it could possibly have been a flash in the pan. He passed with the ability cf GuhL low, swift, and deadly accurate. .He spotted a loose comrade in a twinkling, ran and handled the ball like a shampion. Evervbody was asking: — 'Who's No. 7f'» The. writer also expressed the opinion that if Thomas maintained thc form he displayed on Saturday he would have strong claims for consideration for, inter-State honours. - . ?
