Gladys Moncrieff's Wedding

UNPRECEDENTED SCENES.

SYDNEY, Tuesday.-Unprecedented scenes were witnessed to-day at the mar-riage of Miss Gladys Moncrieff, the actress, to Mr. Tom Moore, a member of the chorus. A huge crowd of wo-men gathered in the four streets in the heart of the city in the vicinity of St. James' Church, King street, and completely blocked tram and other traffic. Miss Moncrieff's car was a quarter of an hour late trying to get through the crowd. There was wild cheering when the ceremony was over.

The crowd was so unmanageable that several women were carried off their feet and fell, two being trampled on and were taken in ambulances to the hospital badly hurt.

The bride entered the church with her brother Reginald, while the four bridesmaids were Clarice Hardwicke, Miss Foster Jones, Ruth Higham and Dorothy Taylor. The bride wore a charming gown of white georgette,

heavily embossed in chenille and gir-, dled with a narrow train of orange blossoms with lillies of the valley drap-ed on one side, with train of georg-ette and Michelin lace. She wore a tulle veil and high coronet of lace,

studded with pearls.

Dean Talbot was the clergyman, and the reception was held at Wentworth Cafe. The bride went away in in tubfrock of mastic cloth, embroidered in Chinese tones, and caught by a bronze

buckle.
