POOR CLIPS IN THE WEST.

The present season's wool clips in the Murchison are poor, according to reports. A Westralian paper records that Mileura, one of the oldest, if not the oldest, stations in these parts, cut but recently for one of the poorest clips gathered in for a number of year. In part this is attributed to the short period (nine months) which elapsed since last shearing, an early start this season being made to fit in with a round of sheds."The Murchison "Times'' states that the flocks are sadly depleted by deaths amongst

The sheep, and an abnormally large

decrease in natural increase-i.e lambs. Consequently the shearers cheque st each cut-out is small compared with previous years. The clip heine poor, station owners have to bear the double loss-lo«s in numbers of animals and poor returns from those t'iat pns« through the shearers' hands. The latest «trtions to cut out are Coodaroy and Mileura. At tho former station 11.000 sheep were «horn for a very light clip, owing to the had season and ,short period since last shearing.'
