LOTHIAN TAM.

The celebrated horse Lothian Tam will stand thia Beason at Mount Mercer. Terms-£5 each mare, with one in five allowed to bona fide owneis. Every care will be taken, but without responsibility. The mares to be paid for when taken away, of which notice will be given. Mares which missed last season will be served at half price"

Lothian ram, in Scotland, gained first prize at Dumfries, as a yearling; at two years old he gained six premiums, viz., at Neilson, Mary hill, Glasgow, Johnstone, Renfrewshire, and Kirkintilloch ; when three years old he was awarded the prize of forty sovereigns by the Stirlingshire Agricultural Society to serve mares in that county, competing against forty horses of all ages; when four years old he gained the premium of £40 and gold medal awarded by the Glasgow Agricultural Society, competing against 30 horses; he also gained other prizes at local shows. He is now six years old. -

Society's 1st Prize and Champion F Cup for 1861; also, winner of the Ballarat . Agricultural Society's 1st Prize and Challenge Cop for 1861, and the 1st Prize Gold MedU at

Smeaton for 1861.

Champion is a bright bay, 6 years old,' stands i 7 hands high, and postattd of monetise bone and pooer. He was imported from Scotland by Messrs J. and M. M'lntosh, and was bred by Mr Anderson, Dromore, Ayrshire. Champion was got by Mr Anderson's Prince Charlie, dam, , Mr Andersen's prize mare at the Highland Society's Show in Glasgow, 1854. It will thus appear that, from both sire and dam, Champion

inherits the best bload in Scotland.

Champion was exhibited on several occasions as a yearling, and was never beaten, and ended his career in Scotland by carrying off at Glasgow, the Highland and Agricultural Society's First Prize for year olds, beating thirty-one others.

Champion has proved a sure foal getter.
