i-Xmas Radio Appeal for Hospitals Last Christmas Day, Radio 31A? organised a very successful appeal' for al district hospitals.. The total amount subscribed was over £10,000 -the highest total went to Hamilton Hospital (£4,000), whilst Portland was tenth on the list with a total of £400.. Radio 3HA have again consented to conduct an appeal on Christmas Day this year,' and Portland Hospital has been Invited to co-operate. It is desired to make it quite clear that all subscriptions received here are for the support of the Portland Hospital, without any deductions being made, and the appeal this year will be for the new hospital, for which the Committee are obligated to provide a further £3,000.. Tile surrounding districts were circularised some five weeks ago, but so far only two responses have been received.. This apathy is regrettable, and unless the people of the district co-operate, Portland's effort cannot be successful.. The amounts subscribed will be acknowledged over the air by 3HA on Xmas Day, but there is no necessity to delay sending donations, as records will be kept, receipts issued and acknowledgments made, as stated, over the air oti Xmas Day.. The Hospital Secretary's office, telephone No 287 Portland, will be open from 8 a..m.. to midnight on Xmas Day, and will . be constantly in touch with 3HA, but all donations received prior to Christmas Day will relieve the position considerably.. D)on't let your Hospital down! Suhbascrlbe freely!
