Posting of Christmas Cards. With the approach of the Christmas season, the deputy director of Posts and Telegraphs (Mr. R. N. Partington) desires to remind renders regarding certain postal laws covering the posting of Christmas cards. If such cards are enclosed in sealed envelopes, letter rate of postage, 2d. per oz., is chargeable, "and this rate applies even if the ends of the envelope be cut open. To take advantage of the printed matter rate of postage, viz., 1d. per ,I ozs., the flap of the envelope should he merely turned in, and not more than five words of conventional greeting may be written: on the Christmas curd. Leave the flap of the envelope unsealed. If these conditions are.not observed, recipients of your greetings may be anlioyed when called upon to pay the surcharge imposed owing to your neglect.
