ADVERTISING RESTRICTIONS. No photographs of "FatherChristmas" will be published this year in connection with Christmas advertising. These have been banned by the Federal Government's "Christmas Advertising. Regulations," which are now being drafted. It was state(l officially, however, that the regulations will not prevent the traditional appearance of Father Christmas in stores during the Xmas period. No advertisement will be permitted which states that Father Christmas will appear at any store, an'1d no pictures of him will be permitted as part of Christmas advertising. Models of Father Christmas, which in past years have been displayed in shop windows, will be banned. Prohibition will be placed on the use of Father Christmas to attract persons to stores or to induce thetm to purchase Christmas presents.
