ROYAL ROMANCE ENDED.

Belgian Princess and Hun-garian Captain. VIENNA, July 9. A thirty-years'-old royal romance has just come to an end. Princess Louise, the eldest daughter of the late King Leo-pold II of Belgium, was married at Brus-sels in 1875, to Prince Philip of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. She subsequently eloped with Capt. Mattasuh, a Hungarian. noble-man, and on January 15, 1906, she was divorced by her husband, renounced all rights as a member of the ducal family of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, and resumed her former title as a Princess of Belgium. Ever since that date, the lovers have been living at various European watering places. When money became scarce, Capt. Matta-sich advised the Princess to dispute her late fathers will, which left everything to his morganitic wife, the Baroness Vaughan The lawsuit failed, and the couple, sad-dled with the costs, became poorer than ever. Princess Louise' recently appealed for Help to her next younger sister, Prin-cess Stephanie ( widow of Prince Rudolph of Austria, and now married to a Hun-garian ex-Count). Princess Stephanie offered to allow her sister— who is now 65 years of age — to spend the rest of her life in the beautiful castle of Oraszvar, in Hungary, on condition that she parted from Capt. Mattasich. The offer was accepted, and other friends found a home for the penniless captain.
