* NEWS OF PIONEERS SOUGHT. -x The following, letter, addressed to the "Editor, the Leading Newspaper, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia," was handed in at "The Sun" office on Thursday last:— "Sir,— I would very much like to correspond with some of the Wells family who arrived in Tasmania from Norfolk, England, about 1844. In 1865 William Henry Wells wrote to his brother, Norfolk Walter Wells, in California, from Mac's Hotel, Portland, Victoria, saying that he was in the sheep raising business at a town the name of which is very dif-flicult to decipher. It looks like Mingbosh. He also stated that his brother, Thomas Wells, was living at Yhul, near Mt. Gambia. Their mo-ther, Charlotte Wells, died in Tas-mania or Australia, and was buried at a town or locality called New Norfolk. I am the grandson of Norfolk Walter Wells, and am anx-ious to learn something of the Wells family history. Thanking you in advance for any trouble you' may be put to on my behalf.--Yours, etc., Bruce Cartwright, Honolulu P.O. Box 653.'
