Obituary. At his residence, at Moree, near Tarrayoukyan, on Friday night, Oc-tober 10th, there passed away the oldest pioneer and most highly re-spected resident of the district in the person of Mr. John McDonnell, at the venerable age of 95 years. A na-tive of County Westmeath, lreland, he first went to Liverpool, from where he sailed for Australia, arriving in Portland in June, 1863. From here he went to Mullagh Station, near Harrow, where he worked for eight-een months. In 1865 he selected land at Moree, and. some years later he married Miss Catherine Fahey, of Portland,and went to reside on the property where he lived until the time or his death. About four years ago Mr. and Mrs'. McDonnell celebrated their golden wedding, when a large crowd of relatives and friends were present.
