Valedictory Tea A very enjoyable.timd was spoient at "Annesley," Julia Street; on Monday: when several. friends of Miss C. McLeann, of "Claremont," joined in an afternoon ten and presentations .to that lady, who is severing her connection with Portland. "On her arrival at the house, Mrs. Learmonth presented her Twith a - tastefully arranged bouquet of lovely roses, and maiden hair fernis, and when tea had been disipensed,; Miss. Wadlmore, on behalf of ,:the ladies present, gave Miss Me.Leana silvor-mouiited.oaken tray andl an alarineclock, as. menientos of tlie love and esteeni' in which she is held by them, iissiriing; her she had enedered herself to: everyone by her charming personality`: and winsome wva.. As a neighboir .and friend she was ideal, for rin iorirow and siceness .she 'showed; hgr, sympathy in practical ways, and; her ldeparture was a distinct loss ti Portland. Thoy all wished her health and happitiess in the futureui and trustedl shewvould:re tain many pleasant meinmories lofhier seven year' s.J'ourn amongst us.
