FAMILY RESCUED FROM FLOOD

BRISBANE. March 24— Tha Green family, of Coorabulka Station, 56 miles west of Winton. were rescued late this afternoon, after being menaced by floodwaters for 36 hours. Two rescue parties, one on horseback, and the other In an improvised raft, battled, all day to-day to reach the stranded family.Mr, Mr, D. Bryce. owner of adjoining Tatong Station, and two of his employees, reached them late this afternoon. Jamef Green. 32, his wire and 12 months old B'irl were found huddled on the homestead Mr Bryce rowed for four miles on a' raft made from a water trough and petrol drums. Efforts to rescue Green were doubled this morning when a fading telephone call told Winton 'I am standing up to my armpits In water. We are trying to reach the roof.' Rain and low cloud ceilings prevented relief food supplies being dropped over Isolated Windorah nnd Bitdsville to-day. A R.A.A.F. Dakota .which left Brisbane this morning, landed at Charleville because of bad weather. The Dakota will probahlly take on' early tomorrow morning, weather permitting.
