BRILLIANT TIFFIN

Lord Ellesmere's brilliant filly, Tiffin^ is not to race again. She soes to the stud with an undefeated race record. Tiffin was particularly playful and sometimes threw her rider and ealloped off to the stable. Recently, when indulging in some such escapade, she slipped on the road and injured one oi ber knees so badly that it became clear she could never again be

raced. tier trainer believed she could have cone right through the season still undefeated. Tiffin is a three-year-old filly b7 Tetratema out of Dawn-wind, and was bred by Sir John Rutherford. She was sold as a foal to Lord Eilesmere for 1,100 fens. She has won £10,516 in stakes, her successes beine in the Wilbraham Stakes at Newmarket, the National Breeders' Produce Stakes at Sundown Park, the Ham Stakes at Goodwood, the Convivial Plate at York, and the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket last season, and the Kern Hfll Stakes at Ascot, the July Op at Newmarket, and the Kin* Geonre Stakes at Goodwood this season. Many of the best judges in England regarded Tiffin as the fastest filly that wer ???-ced in that country. Her greatest victory was that achieved over Royal Mingtrel, the conqueror of Fairway.
