CYCLONE ON REUNION TAKES A HEAVY TOLL

The Prefect added that 60 per cent of the houses on Reunion have been destroyed or damaged. The Prefect (M. Canle) added the cyclone destroyed 70 per cent of Reunion's food stocks, killed 50 per cent of the cattle, while 30 per cent of the sugarcane plantations were itttrojti. Mod rail and telephone communications have been cut. K French military plant is leaving Bordeanx to-morrow morning with emergency food storks, which will be parachuted to the island. The cyclone to-night was reported to be abating.
