HOSPITALS SEEK .RELIEF FUNDS. Would Mean Employment and Save Expense. Criticism of the Unemployment Re lief Fund Committee for its failure in .the past year to grant loans for hosplitll repairs and 'additions was voice ait a meeting of the executive of the Country Hospitals' Association. By ±'everting to its policy of mak ing grants to charitable institutions, the fund committee would enable a' considerable amount' of employment to be undertaken, members of the executive stated. This work would be reprductive, alind would save the Go vernmnent from having to spend large sums on building. SIt was announced that members of the .Country Hospitals' Association hadl, approached the Lord I3ayor's Fun- with the suggestion that metro politan firms should be asked to allo cate their donations to metropolitan or country hospitals. At a shire council function held at Trafalgar the architect for the new municipal .chambers . said Central Gippsland had a wonderful asset in its timber, and intended to include it in fut.?re specifications and recom mend it to others.
