Yesterday se'nnight His Honor the LIEUTE-NANT GOVERNOR came to Town from Parra-matta, and returned thither on Monday last.

On Tuesday last a number of natives assembled about the farm of Mr. Bond, at George's River, and behaved in a very outrageous manner. They ma-nifested an inclination to plunder, but were pre-vented by the determination that was shewn to resist them. They threw several spears, one of which grazed the ear of Mr. F. Meredith, who as-sisted in the defence of the place, which it was at length found necessary to abandon. Tedbury is said to have been one of the assailants.

On Friday afternoon John Dignum died sud-denly in the shop of John Harris, butcher, in Chapel Row, and the same evening a Coroner's Inquest sat on the body ; whose verdict was Death by the Visitation of God.

On Monday last the house of Mr. William Bow-man, at Richmond Hill, unfortunately took fire and was burnt to the ground.

Last week a fine boy fell off a plank in the Hawkesbury River, and was unfortunately drowned.

SHIP NEWS.—On Friday, arrived the Speke, Captain Hingston, from the fishery with about 150 tons of black oil and 30 of sperm ; she is 5 weeks from the Derwent, where she left the Por-poise.

On Tuesday sailed the American ship Ann, Captain Gwynn, for the fishery, to complete her cargo of sperm oil.
