NEW LIGHTHOUSES APPROVED.

By Advisory Committee. MELBOURNE, August 17. The establishment of new lighthouses and beacons and the Improvement of existing lights around the Australian coast were approved by members of the Commonwealth Lighthouse Advisory Committee to-day. The Committee decided to recommend to the Government a new lighthouse be constructed at Cape Ronsard (W.A.), and that a land all day beacon be erected at Euston Reef, Grafton Passage. Queensland, to mark the passage through thp outer Barrier Reef, Bubject to satisfactory Navy Office surveys on the waters In the vicinity. The Committee also approved of the construction of a new lighthouse on Y Reef, In the vicinity of Cape York. North Queensland. Alterations to existing lights, approved by the Committee, include the establishment of a manned station at Eshelby Island, Queensland. In ileu or the present unattended light.
