Compressed Fodder Industry.

Of late years the compressed fodder in-dustry of this State has been gradually ex-panding- (says Adelaide "Advertiser"), and this season a large' quantity has been exported. A couple of large shipments have been made to South Africa, while several thousand bales have been sent to Manila, á few hundred bales to Hong-kong and Kobe, and small consignments to Queensland, Port Darwin, and Java. The barque Loch Bredan; which left Port Adelaide, for South Africa on Sept. last, and after being spoken a fortnight later, has not since been heard of; had 27,621 bales of compressed fodder and 910 bales compressed chaff on board. The Tsinan, in Dec. last, took 217 bales to Hongkong, and 2990 to Manilla, while the Chingtu, which sailed about a fortnight ago,, had on board 4291 bales for Manila, and in bales for Kobe, Japan. The steamer Dumbarton sailed for South Africa a week ago, with 2610 bales of this commodity, and the steamer Guthrie left on Thursday with 1156 bales for Manila, and 340 bales for Kobe, Japan.
