D W." in 1 mine s issue, allow me to say, in reference to the late (Governor Latrobe's cottage residence in Jolimont, that previous to its removal, about seven years ago, I had two photographs taken of it, one of which I sent to the editor of TheAuslnilasianlikUüiei, in the hope that some day it might be useful for a reference to the dwelling of Port Phillip's first Governor, as well (as I believe) two other em I) colonists, Bishop Perry) and the now Might Hon Hugh C E Childers -

A NEW York correspondent of a London paper states that the convict whose sufferings were so graphically described in Dickens'. "American Notes" was recently released. The unhappy man, failing to find a refuge elsewhere, begged to be allowed to return to his old cell, and he has died there.
