BYADUK PLOUGHING MATCH.

HAMILTON, Wednesday.

Tho Byaduk Farmers' Club held their annual ploughing match on Christie Bros, farm, on Tuesday. Considering the threaten-ing state of the weather during the early morning, there was a fair attendance of visi-tors. There were 13 competitors, or one less than last year. The work done was good, especially that of P. Fraser, in the boys' class, who promises to become a colonial champion. The following were the results :

CHAMPION.-First, James Harman, Byaduk (Lennon); second, J. Baglln, Karabeal (Tynan)

Class B-(Open to all comers)-First, Reuben Harman, Byaduk (Lennon); second, T Dwyer, Knobs worth (Hollard); third, J Mason, Byaduk (Gray)

Class C -(Members of Byaduk Farmers' Club) -First, W. Christie (Lennon); second, A. Harman (Hornsby); third, E. M'Dougall (Hornsby)

BOYS CLASS -First, P. Fraser (Lennon) ; second, E Tomkins(Tynan) ; third, A Christie(Hornsby)

BEST CROWNS -J. Baglin, R. Harman, A. Harman,

and A. Christie

In the evening, the annual dinner was held at Hardy's Temperance Hotel, and was largely attended.

The remains of the late Rev. Rowland Hill have been transferred from Surrey Chapel to the Rev. Newman Hall's Church, and de-posited at the foot of the tower erected to commemorate the abolition of slavery.
