Sunday Times £S AWARD GOES TO FALCONER

West Perth centreman Brian Falconer was best man on the ground at Subiaco yesterday.

Dis display won him The Sunday Times £5.

He was most consistent, being always in the play.

He showed great ability in gathering a large per-centage of the knock-outs from the ruck and his long and well-directed kicks to the forward line provided many opportunities.

When on the defensive he showed sufficient pace and recovery to catch his marksman in possession frequently.

Falconer has not had the best of luck in the last few

seasons.

He was out of the game for considerable periods owing to injury.

But he has certainly struck form at the right time and should be a great asset for the Cardinals in next week's grand final.

T TMP IRES' march-out ^ was back to normal yesterday. What possessed the League to militarise the umpires the previous week, one will never know. Even the crowd apprecia-ted the humor of the debut.
