4000 MLES TO ARREST N" WEST
CATTLEMEN
Two North-west cattlemen and a woman were sent for trial on cattle killing and stealing charges, following a 52day trek by air and horseback by Der.-Sgt. Tom Triat, Perth C.I.B., much of it across 4000 miles of waterless country.
Triat returned to Perth by plane on Friday night after arresting: Elderly Alexander Brown ("Scotty") Sadler, prominent ranch
owner of Tableland Station;
Frederick Hugh Fraser (33). manager of Yeeda Station; and
Irene Agnes Kelly (38).
Sadler will face 3 charges of cattle killing, Fraser and Kelly 2 charges of cattle stealing.
Triat's arduous journey began
on June 13.
On Horseback
Leaving the plane at Hall's Creek, he travelled 10 days on horseback under the blazing sun, with P.C. Glasheen, of Hall's Creek, P.C. Dowes, of Turkey Creek, and black-trackers.
Sadler was arrested at Table-land. Station, taken 180 miles to Hall's Creek, and committed for
trial.
On July 12, Triat flew to Derby with P.C. Woodlands, of Broome.

He arrested Fraser 30 miles from Broome, went back to Derby and took Kelly into custody
Kelly and Fraser were jointly charged at Derby Police Court on July 29 with stealing from sta-tions owned by Napier Downs Pastoral Co., and Emanuel Bros.
"Great Job"
"North-West police do a great job," said Det.-Sgt. Triat yester-day. "They do all their work on horseback, through some of the toughest country in the world.
"A patrol may last up to 9
months."
