FOOTBALL. INTEESTATE CONTESTS. SOUTH. AUSTRALIA V. VICTOiRIA'. In the football. carnival held at Adelaide last season (the South Australian team came out champions of the Commonwealth. Now our players are. to 'enter the crucible again. The pick of the Victorian League will test their strength in Melbourne this afternoon, and followers ' of the game throughout the States are awaiting with great interest the result of the -contest. Last season, the Victorian side were defeated here to the tune of 11.11 against 5.4— an overwhelming majority. Both sides are equally sanguine of victory on this occasion, and a particularfy fine tussle is confidently expected. The teams will be as follows:— ??????-??
