enterprise and courage displayed by the late Mr. J. H. Cummins that, in the years following the consolidation of the business of his company on the goldfields, he planned a new market for the sale of Big K ale and stout Merre-din, die capital of the wheatbelt, attracted him as being a prosperous centre and a town whose geographical position and rail way facilities promised easy transit to other agricul-tural towns.
