7 STONE

Stands, But Cannot Walk

LONDON, Saturday.

The world's biggest baby must surely be 33-months-old Leslie Bowles, whose weight is 7st. 2½lb. He is the third child of an unemployed Lowestoft fish-porter, and weighed 7lb. at birth. He is 36½in. in height and is perfectly healthy, his mentality is normal and he has never had an illness, according

to the "British Medical Journal," which says that his condition is due to dys-pituitarism. Both parents and the other children are small.

"Leslie is as strong as a lion and can push anybody over. He can stand, but he cannot walk. He is always singing," says his mother.
