FITZROY FOOTBALI- CLUB; ANNUAL MEETING.' The eighteenth annual m'eeting of the Fitzroy Football Club was held on Monday at the Fitzroy town hall. Senator Best (president) occupied the chair. The hall was packed. The hon. secretary, Mr C.- Hickey, read the report of the committee and bal.ance sheet.- The comnmittee congratulated the members on the splendid performance of their players during the past season. They had only been prevented from bec3ming prmniiers three times in succession tlrotigh, being defeated by Me!bourne .in .the finalmatch by four points. The committee regretted to have to annnounce that they would lose the valued services of Captain Sloan, who'had been forbidden by his medical adviser to -play football. The finances of 'the club were in a. sound state, and there was a substantial balance to its credit.". OOn the mo-tion of the president, :the report and balance sheet were .adopted. Two special prizes for the most "consistent"' players of the season; presented by the Rev. Stanley S. Reid and Mr Edgar" M'Gillicuddy, were awarded, on the vote of the .players. to MAessrs M'" Grace and E. Jerikins; .
