LACROSSE. Premiership Final. A large crowd assembled at the Norwood Oval to witness this interesting match. The rain had made the ground in perfect condition, and the players ravelled in their game. After up-and-down play Jaffrey and Naughton were combined, and put Langley in possession, and the first .goal was scored. The play now became very fast, both sides mat-ing every effort, and goals were scored by Fletcher for Port, and NoaL Noblet, and Hill for Start. Up to this point there was nothing to choose betweem the teams. Noblet and Raymond instituted a different method of attack, and Searle added their fifth goal. Vaughan dashed along the wing, but received no support, and the play was all over die field. The third quarter saw the Sturte take charge. Farrell and Noblet each scored, and their position was almost assured. Port's defence line stopped several rushes, Fletcher, Brock, and Laughton shining in it. A goal by Langley raise1! their nopes, but Searle retaliated by a close shot. Three^juarter time:— Sturt, 9 goals; Port, 6 goals. The final was played in pouring rain, a'nd much slipping resulted. Good lacrosse Was witnessed, considering the conditions. Very even play, then to Sturt's goal, an i J Jaffrey obtained a lucky goal amidst great j enthusiasm. Sturt then ran out comfort- ' able winners by 12 goals to 7. Best Players.— Sturt— Noblet (3 goals). Wicks (2), Noal (best. on ground). Sear'.e (2), Moffat (2), Raymond, and Tonki-i. For the losers — Parnell £n goal), Langley, Parsons, Jaffrey, Parsons, and Brock. Mr. Nicholas gave entire satisfaetion as referee.

Port Adelaide C v. Holdfast Bay C (at Glenelg Oval).— Holdfast Bay prove! themselves superior, but nevertheless it was a poor exhibition of lacrosse, owin^; to the ground being in a very bad condi- 1 tion. With a view of obtaining the best possible aide for their Adelaide trip, the Northern Areas Association has arranged for a practice match to be played at Crystal Brook on Wednesday next, in which the following players will take part: — A Team-S. Williams, G. Estick, E. G. Lee, M. Saint, W. Saint, C. Noblet, E. Noblet. A.. Brooks. At the completion of this match 14 players will be selected . to visit the city, when matches will be played with the interstate combination on Saturday, August 3, and University on Monday, 5th.
