There's a flurry of activity in Australian moyie-moking as 1950 begins. 'The Kangaroo Kid'' is scheduled to begin in February, 'The Bushranaer' in March.

Daciong. 'The Bushranger'— that's only a 'working title,' explains associate producer Robert Snody— will be made by Twentieth Century-Fox, in Technicolor. It's set in 1895-1900, is Written by Norman Riley Raine, and is about a pioneer family on a Far West cattle station. Mr. Snody has said it was 'unlikely' an Australian actor would play the lead. Production will foe 75 per cent, outdoor, will be classed as an 'action drama', and will take four to six months. A much less ambitious shooting schedule is announced for 'The Kangaroo Kid', by McCreadie brothers (they're the Australians who made 'Into the Straight'). It would' be directed by John English, who had handled many Hollywood westerns. Also from Hollywood would come cameraman and principal players. Vincent Price, Rod Cameron, Douglas Dumbrille, Glen Lan

gan, and Hilary Brook had been mentioned for roles. 'The Kangaroo Kid' would be an adventure film in a period 'setting. Interiors would be filmed in Sydney studios, and exteriors- in New England, NSW.
