FITZROY DEFEATS EAST FREMANTLE

By a policy of hop-right-in and non-stop from bell to bell the visiting Fitz-roy footballers vanquished East Fre-mantle on the Subiaco Oval on Wed-nesday. It was one of the most strenuous games witnessed locally for some time. Two of East's men were rendered hors-de-combat, and for the last' half the locals played one man

short, while the other injured' player, though he continued, was of prac-tically no. use to his side. In thc rough and tumble thc seasiders held their own, but weight and a fine combina-tion on the part of the Victorians and the weakened forces of the local side was East's undoing. In the circum-stances Old East did remarkably well, and the game showed that, after all,

we have not much to learn from the '? men from across the Bight. The final

tally read:-Fitzroy, 10.12 (72 points); '

East Fremantle. 6.13 (61 ooints).
