WOMAN'S UNACCOUNTABLE ACTION.

The sequel to Thursday's sensation at Glenelg was enacted at the seaside Magis-trates' Court on Friday, when Ellen Norris, aged 57 years, was charged (before Messrs.

H. D. Gell and Wilton Hack) with having attempted to do herself bodily harm by jumping into the sea at Glenelg on Decem-ber 23. Defendant said that she did not remember anything of the occurrence, and could not account for her action. George Norris, her husband, said that she had never threatened to do herself harm. She had not been sleeping well lately, and was the mother of a large family. He would look after her better if the Bench would allow her to go. The Magistrates said that it did not appear to be a case of at-tempted suicide, and they would take the husband's promise to watch his wife in future. The information was accordingly dismissed. The Bench thanked Messrs. Ridge and Hansen for their promptitude in rescuing defendant.
