Hammer, of Elizabeth street, Mount Gambicr, held their diamond wedding celebrations last Saturday. A dinner was given at the Commercial Hotel, Mount Gambier, and four generations were represented. Mr. and Mrs. Hammer went to Mount Gambier 58 years ago, and have resided continuously in tho district. Mr. Hammer conducted n business as ' blacksmith and whcelwrisht on the corner of Commercial and Elizabeth streets until about 12 months ago, when he disposed of his property to D. ' Under his will, which has been admitted to probate, Mr. Edward Neale (formerly Mr. Edward Neale Wigg), who died at Medindie on December 12, has left the bulk of his estate, valued at £21,070, in trust for. his widow during her lifetime. He made a bequest of £1,000 to the Adelaide Children's Hospital for the purpose of endowing a bed or beds, in memory of his son, Dr. Frank Morewood Wigg. The ultimate residue of the estate, after certain bequests and annuities, has been left to the University of Adelaide for medical research work in such a way as the Council of the University may decide. The testator- expressed, a wish that if possible the bequest should be chiefly used for re-search work in connection with cancer.
