ALARM OVER JEEP AT SEA

NEW YORK, June 19.-Two army bombers win begin a search tomorrow for the amphibious jeep in which Major Ben gamin Carlin, of Perth, and his Ameri-can wife are trying to sail to the Azores on the first leg of their proposed round-the-world trip.

No radio messages has been re-ceived from them since they sailed from New York on June 16 and If the bombers do not sight them tomorrow the coast guard will begin a full-scale search by air and sea and merchant ship-ping will be asked,to cooperate.

The only news of the craft came from a fishing vessel, which radioed the coastguard on June 17. It sighted the, jeep off Sandybook, New Jersey. The coastguard immediately sent a picket boat from Bamegat, but found no trace of the jeep.

'- The coastguard spokesman said today: "There is nothing to stop them from chugging about on the high seas in this craft; but if no messages are received from them soon we will throw our whole or-ganisation into action to find them."
