SOUTH AUSTRALIAN TALENT IN LONDON.

The entertainment was given entirely by Soutjli Ai£truli2|ii lMmbrmere, with' tho exception of a substitute for Miss Elsie Jfxei, who was suffering from a cold. Mr. Peter Dawson was in magnificent voice, every note being full, round, and raeilow. His numbers, 'Tlie forest son?,' 'To my first love,' 'Thy beaming eyes,' ''Tis i,' and 'Scots wha hae,' were all equally appreciated. This fine singer greatly impressed his audience with the quality of his remaikibic voice. Madame Margaret Swan (Mrs. Ccnr. founders), like Mr. Dawson, was recalled. She was in happy mood, and King with effect 'Land of hope and glory.' 'Lave is meant to make us glad,' and 'Only for one.' But the honours of tlio evening were by common consent nwarded to .Miss Duris Cloud. Her violin solo, 'Al-legro Melto,' from Godard's 'Concerto Rumard.io.ne,' exhibited such control, and was rendered with such exquisite sympathy, that when the concluding note had flicl nwny the silence was broken by a perfect Ktcrm of applause, which was maintained until tlic young Wallaroo student returned. Liter her interpretation ot 'Terpeluum mobile' (Franz Ries), received sn equally marked appreciation. Miss Lily Duncan played -the accompaniment* with evprcssion. Mr. Wybert Reeve recited Shahy care's 'Seven ases' and Hood's Apology for 1'owlegs'' in good style, nnd in His easy stage presence the pleased Us- ^ teners quickly detect ed the veteran. Mr. Ritchard Nitschke rendered with much ar tistic force 'A song of thanksgiving,' 'If thcu are sleeping,' and 'Because.' The ? old Adelaide favourite has rince he left his native city improved considerably in his platform manner, and liis selections were given in finished style.
