GLENELG GRAMMAR SCHOOL

JUBILEE.

The old scholars of Glenelg Grammar School celebrated the 50th anniversary of the school on Tuesday evening with a social, at Arcadian Cafe. A good number were present, including four old boys who attended the school on the opening day: October 1, 1868. -Messrs F. C. Howard, E. Jones, C. E. Manthorpe and B. Miller. The president of the association (Hon. J. H. Cooke) was in the chair. Interesting reminiscences were related by the chairman, the secretary (Mr. F. H. Counsell) Messrs. W. T. Stacy, F. C. Howard W. A. Hamilton, M.P., H. B. Crosby, M.P. and others. A warm feeling of patriotism pervaded the meeting together with a hearty loyalty to the old school. Cordial tributes of respect and

appreciation were paid to the memory of the late   principal (Mr. Frederick Caterer) and Mrs. Caterer Light refreshments were partaken of, and a capital

programme of songs and recitations was rendered by Mr. D. H. Bottrill and others.
