Lacrosse Double To Brighton

Brighton in a thrilling finish narrowly defeated East Torrens and so gained senior lacrosse premiership at Norwood Oval today. Brighton gained a double premiership, as the B team defeated Adult Deaf in the challenge final at the Association ground.

At the Norwood Oval the standard of play was good and even. Brighton were without their captain. F. Melbourne. R. Jenkins, a former interstate player, took his; place, and in spite of his lack of match play, was Brighton's best man. Strong defence play by each team was the feature of the first two quarters, and scores at halftime were four goals all. After the long: interval Gorman) goaled. giving East Torrens the' lead for the first time. Brighton equalised when Jenkins .'scored, but Torren5. with good combined play.: scored to take the lead again. j i Brighton then gained three goals. Ithrough Edwards, and had a lead ;of two goaLs at the last change.

Early in ihe last quarter Brighton .scored again, and Torrens appeared a beaten team, but goals from Nolan and Gorman brought them within a goal.
