Record To Brighton PREMIERS FOR FOURTH YEAR

East Torrens' winning run in senior lacrosse was broken at the University Oval this afternoon, when Brighton easily defeated the Norwood side, and won the 1940 premiership, and, incictantallv crpatpfl an ncsoriatinn rernrd

by being premiers for the fourth time in succession. In the game today Torrens were first into their stride, and scored two quick goals. But Brighton, through R. Jenkins, scored three times, and lead at the end of the quarter. In the second quarter Brighton gained a match-winning lead. Gaining the ball from the centre, they were always to the front, and good, combined play between R. Jenkins and Horwood enabled the seasiders to establish a lead of six goals at the long interval. ATTACKED STRONGLY Torrens attacked strongly in the third quarter, but they could not reduce the deficit. At three-quarter time the score was still Brighton 9, Torrens 3.The The last quarter was even until the last 10 minutes, when Brighton made a burst and scored four goals.
