Crompton & Son, of Gawler-place. Adelaide, known as the Bunyip Soap Company, appeared to answer a charge made by the Local Board of Health for the district of Woodville of -having
allowed their skin and fertiliser works at York, to become in such a state as to be offensive. Mr. I J. T. Mellor appeared for the local board. Fined £1 and costs, £2 16s in all. Compton & Son
were also charged with having failed to comply , with an order of the Woodville Board of Health to cause waste from the boiling- of bones to be immediately ploughed or covered in as soon as deposited on the land. The defendants pleaded
guilty and were fined £1 and costs £1 167, £2 IS j in all 2
