Mr. George Smith, general manager of the Midland Railway Company, at Moora, directing operations for the restoration of traffic on the company's line between Watheroo and Moora There are heavy flood waters, and washaways having occurred

traffic on that section of the line has been temporarily suspended. It is hoped now that the rains have ceased that -the waters will rapidly subside. There will be no unnecessary loss of time in establishing through connection from Midland Junction to Geraldton, but meanwhile the traffic north of Moora will be entirely suspended. A correspondent?, writing on Wednesday, says Moora is at the present time under water, especially on the eastern side of the line, where all the buildings are more or less surrounded.

An exceptionally heavy fall of rain has been experienced during the last few days, and some of the older residents consider it to be a record for many years. Communication between the two sides of the town is carried on only with extreme difficulty. The Moora flood was the most severe know for 37 years. The - Railway Department received

a report yesterday to the effect that that portion of the, Wagin Dumbleyung, railway which was inundated on the previous day was then clear, and that trains over the line would be resumed to-day.
