Soccer Club To Defy Ban

Corinthians Soccer Club will pay its team members after next Sat-urday's game with Shaftson Rovers 'to bring its dispute with the

Q.S.F.A. to a head.' An official of the club said last night that the next move would then rest with the association. He would not forecast what this would be. A Corinthian move to allow pay-ment to players was defeated 6-5 at the association's delegates' meeting this week. Corinthians now have decided to defy this decision. A club official said: 'We hope to have a New South Wales team visit Queensland this season. Every member of that team will be a professional. To be logical, the association should de-cline to let Queensland amateurs play against them. We believe that players are en-titled to a share of the profits from the game, and that Soccer in Queensland will progress only when players are paid.' INTERSTATE GAMES SYDNEY, Wednesday.— A New South Wales Soccer team will leave Sydney for Queensland on June 14. It will play at Brisbane on June 15 and at Ipswich on June 17, returning to Sydney on June 18.
