G.M.-Holden Plans Big Programme MELBOURNE, Fri.--General Motors-Holden Ltd. will ex-tend its existing plant in West-ern Australia as part of its £7,250,000 all-State expansion programme. The programme, which will begin immediately, is expected to be completed within 13 months to two years. G.M.H. will build new factor-ies in New South Wales and South Australia and extend existing plants in Victoria, N.S.W., S.A. and Queensland, as well as a £78,000 project at its Mosman Park (W.A.) assem-bly plant. The major project, a £2,840, 000 assembly factory on a 153, acre site at Dandenong (Vic.), will be completed within a year and will be operating within two years. It will be among the world's largest and will employ 1,500 people. The full expansion plan will boost the output of Holden cars by 60 a day to 300, or 72,000-a year. It will also increase working capital to more than £40,000, 000. Further cuts in the price of Holden cars may follow the Australia-wide expansion.
