THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN RAILWAY COMPANY.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE REGISTER.

SIR.-May I be permitted to enquire, through your columns, what has become of the funds collected by the South Australian Railway Company. I hold scrip, of which the following

is a copy :— "South Australian Railway Company. "Shares, £5 each. " No. 681 to 695 inclusive. £2 12s. 6d. " This is to certify that Mr. John Shenton is the pro- prietor of five shares, numbered 681, 632, 683, 684, and 685, of this Company, and that up to this day there has been paid up in respect of such shares the sum of two pounds twelve shillings and sixpence. " --- Directors. " —- Secretary." Now, Sir, you may know- that, it is some years since the project was on foot, and I have not received any of my money back, though the affair has been wound, up long ago. I should like to know where my money is, and to whom I should apply to get it returned. I am, Sir, &c., JOHN SHENTON. Bowden, 14th February, 1856.
