G.P.S. doubt on Wallaby

Brisbane G.P.S. Rugby Union club is unlikely to take advantage of the offer made bv Wallaby, Arthur Buchan,

to play for them this season. Buchan, who is stationed in Murwillumbah, offered to travel to Brisbane each week-end to take part in club matches. Also in Murwillumbah and keen to play in Brisbane are former Toowoomba winger, Doug. Anthony, and former G.P.S. half-back, Ralph Sell-wood. G.P.S. secretary, Tom Simp-son, said yesterday: 'We have intact the young side which won its last five matches in a row in the 1949 season, while Eddie Broad and Allan Ware were in New Zealand, and do not feel like breaking them up. 'While we have not defi-nitely rejected the offer made by those three players, it is not likely that we will ac-cept.' A grade entry Eastern Districts Rugby Union Club has made applica-tion to enter an A grade side this year. The retiring executive com-mittee of the Q.R.U. will re-commend to the incoming committee that the applica-tion be granted. Eagle Junction Rugby Union Club will hold its annual meeting at 8.0 to-night in the Kalinga Theatre.
