HARPER BROTHERS TRAIN AS OPPOSITE WINGMEN

Keith and Roy Harper, of the Perth Football Club, are probably the first brothers to pllay in a league team on opposite centre wings.

Clive and the late Neil Lewington played on the same centreline for South Fremantle, but Clive was at the centre. Roy Harper played his first league game for Perth against South Fremantle last Satur-day. Keith is in his sixth sea son and is a State wingman. * In the picture above Roy (at left) attempts to intercept a foot pass by Keith when training together at the W.A.C.A. Ground last night. Keith, who is 26, and Roy, who is 20, are both natural left-foot players. Roy kicks almost as well with his right foot. Like the Doigs the Sheedys, the Marinkos ant others the Harpers have football in their blood. Their uncle, Leo Dwyer, was a centreman with North Mel bourne for many years and re presented Victoria four times.

In the picture Roy is shown wearing a North Melbourne guernsey which Dwyer gave him when on a visit to Perth with North Melbourne last year. Keith is wearing a Victorian Football Association guernsey which he exchanged at the carnival last year. Unlucky Two years ago Keith was chosen in the State side to play in the Eastern States but broke his collarbone just be fore the team was due to leave Perth. He accompanied the party as an onlooker. Roy, who was vice-captain of the Midland M.J.F.A. team last year, also played in the Hills association on Sundays. He won the association trophy for fairest and best when playing for Herne Hill.
